Oak Ring Handle Clock - Constructed from a Salvaged Canal Lock Gate

This oak clock has historic transport connections, having been constructed from a beam, salvaged from a canal lock gate. There is evidence of the tannin in the oak reacting with ironwork whilst submerged causing an ebonising effect.

The numerals are represented by hand forged rosehead nails that have a pewter finish and there is a lacquered iron ring handle to match.

The clock movement is a sweep, non-ticking.

The dimensions are 22cm high x 16cm wide x 10cm deep.
